Britcoin? Yep, on its way!

Rishi Sunak was vocal about CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) while serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer.

“The G7 is launching a set of policy principles for retail, Central Bank Digital Currencies, CBDCs,” Sunak said.

The U.K. is a member of the G7 along with the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

“Central Bank Digital Currencies could be a digital version of money, a bit like a digital banknote that could be used alongside physical notes and coins.”

What he cared to mention is that decision on whether to launch CBDC is for each country to make.

What could go wrong you may ask?

With currency becoming centralized and digital?

Centralized - governed by Bank of England which gives absolute power to this organization.

Digital - can be hacked, stolen etc. It’s obvious you won’t be able to fill up your physical wallet with it.

But what happens when you are a persona non grata ?

  • your account can be frozen and without physical coin or 5 euro note you cannot purchase fuel, food etc.

UK is going to lead the way with implementing CBDC and this will be extended onto other EU countries.

The question is - who is going to control all finances in the world?
